Universal 7-30V AC/DC Power Supply (DCC Compatible)
While many Brickstuff customers are LEGO® builders, a large segment of our customers enjoy model trains; R/C trucks, cars, planes, and helicopters, and scale models of all sizes. We created this power supply for them as a kind of “Swiss Army Knife” of supplies: it accepts any voltage between 7 and 30 volts, either AC or DC, and outputs a clean DC voltage of 5 volts up to 750mA. This power supply is also fully compatible with any DCC system used on any gauge model train setup. You can also use standard LiPo or LiFE R/C system batteries to power this supply (2S-6S).
When we set out to update the old version of our high-voltage power supplies, we knew we wanted to find a highly efficient power regulator, one that was also capable of powering a moderate (~50) number of LED lights. We're happy with the little switching regulator we found, and we've used it as the basis for our new line of power supplies. This pack includes a supply configured with a 2-wire spring-connect terminal block that accepts between 7-30V AC or DC—just press down on the top of the terminal block with your finger or with a slotted screwdriver and insert your stripped power wires.
The power supply has a total of five power output plugs (four small, or Pico-sized, plugs, and one large-size plug for connecting to legacy Brickstuff components). Because the small-sized power plug has largely been adopted as the industry standard, this supply will work with lighting products and sets sold by Vonado, Light My Bricks, LeLightGo, Briksmax, Lightailing, Game of Bricks, and any company whose LED lights use a small plug that matches the ones on this supply.
Of course you don’t have to use this supply just for LED lights—you can use it to power anything that uses 5V DC with a load of 750mA or less. There are solder terminals on the back of the power supply board for soldering your own power output wire.
You can tell this version of the supply apart from the others in our SEED-MV series because it has an YELLOW DOT on the regulator.
There's an onboard green power LED indicator light so you know when the power is turned on. The power is "on" by default, but if you'd like to add an on/off switch, we do also sell those separately (one version includes a case built from LEGO bricks, and the other is just the button and connecting wire). Plug the switch into the plug labeled "SW" on the supply and you'll be able to turn the power on and off for all connected lights. There are also solder terminals on the bottom side of the power supply board if you want to directly solder your own switch.
Another great feature of this supply-- and one often not found on supplies made by other companies-- is that when the power is off, it's really OFF. Meaning, there's zero battery drain. This is great for long-term power conservation.
This is a pack of one 7-30V AC/DC power supply. Power switch, LED lights, battery, battery input terminals, connecting cables, and adapter boards sold separately.
