This is one of the smallest magnetic switches we've been able to find! This product is just the magnetic switch with bare wire leads and two micro magnets—use it for any DIY project where space is a concern.
This is the same magnetic switch we use in our Deluxe Magnetic Switch and Control Adapter set, only just the magnetic switch and two micro magnets.
The switch is really small—just 3mm in diameter and 20mm long, with 152mm twisted wire leads. The switch is configured in a normally-open mode of operation, which means the contacts are connected when a magnet is close, and disconnected when they are moved away (the opposite of what happens in your refrigerator).
The activation ("on") distance for this switch is also really great-- about 1.5cm, or 1.5". This was measured using the included two micro magnets in a straight line without any obstructions. If you plan to mount either the switch or the magnets inside a housing (for example, a plastic case), your actual results may vary, but the good news is that there's a generous distance to play with.
NOTE: This is a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) product, and requires soldering to use.
