Automate any LEGO Train Signal with this Smart Controller
Our automatic signal controller for LEGO® trains is packed with functionality: it supports 2- and 3-aspect signals, and you can extend it using our BrickPixel driver boards (sold separately) to operate multiple signal lights from a single controller (this works great in signal bridges, for example). You can even set the delay time for resetting the signal after a train passes.
When making a train signal controller, the most important part is the train detection sensor-- you don’t want your train signal getting activated by anything other than a train passing by. Over the course of several years, we tested sensor after sensor to find one that worked in all levels and types of light. We finally found a great sensor: one that accurately detects trains but which is impervious to stray light sources. The sensor has built-in intelligence to filter out the noise so your signals work every time. It works as well in your darkened home train room as it does in the brightest convention layout setup. We even tested it outside in bright sunlight!
The sensor mounts directly to the underside of LEGO® track, and it is slim enough so trains can pass over it without getting caught.

We know LEGO® train fans like to make their own train signal designs, which is why we’re selling the controller as a stand-alone kit (if you prefer an all-inclusive kit with LEGO® parts to build a basic signal and a battery pack, we also have that). This kit includes the controller circuit board, the infrared sensor, sticky dots to attach the sensor (to the underside of any straight section of LEGO® train track or to the side/top of your train signal), and LEGO® parts to build a nifty housing for the controller board that makes it look like any other piece of trackside equipment.
Full online instructions are included for building the housing, connecting lights and setting options in the controller, and expanding the setup to fit into any custom signal design. You can use our Pico LED lights and any of our Power Packs to finish the setup.
This controller will work with any Brickstuff component that has small plugs, and it is also fully compatible with components from other vendors including Light My Bricks, Vonado, LeLightGo, Briksmax, and others. You can use lights and/or power supplies from these vendors to work with this controller.
