Stand-Alone MP3 Sound Module (4MB)
Here's a quick and easy way to add sound to any model. This little sound module can make loud sound, and its onboard 4MB of memory is enough to store over four minutes of MP3 sound (4:15 in our tests). Use the included sticky squares to mount it to your model, connect it to a power source (sold separately), and just press the included button to play. It doesn't get much easier than that!
Once you have your file(s) copied into the board, you can disconnect it from your computer, connect it to a Brickstuff power source using the included BRANCH04 adapter (any of our power sources will work except for the coin cell battery pack), mount the included button in a location where it can be pressed, and voilà! Instant sound. When the button is pressed, sounds on the module are played back in the order in which they were copied onto the module. Pressing the button while a sound is playing will restart that sound from the beginning. The module stops playing when the end of the last sound is reached.
There is no volume control on the board, and tracks can only be played in the order in which they were copied onto the module-- again, the goal was to keep things simple.
Files must be in the MP3 file format. If you need to convert your files or make any adjustments (playback volume, editing/clipping, format conversion, etc.) we recommend using a program such as the free Audacity application. Note that we cannot provide support for the Audacity application or for any issues related to formatting or editing sounds.
If you're looking to add sound to your model, give this handy little module a try!
